According to a new research 94% of online daters who?ve built their relationships on the Internet are likely to keep on dating in a real life.
It may sound surprisingly, but the survey, conducted by Dr Jeff Gavin, of the University of Bath, also demonstrated that male daters were much more emotionally dependent on their online partners than female love seekers, and what is more surprising is that men seem to be more committed to the relationship.
229 testees at the age between 18 and 65 took part in the research. And 94% of them met their online partners again after their first date; moreover their relationships lasted for an average more than half a year and 18% of them lasted even longer.
The study also showed that:
? those partners who exchanged online gifts before meeting in person had deeper relationships;
? daters who had long phone talks without visual contact also demonstrated higher level of relationship commitment;
? all online dating tools like winks, hugs, sharing photos, completing special tests etc. have become real incentives for people to build up really long-term relationships as they help to attract the ?right? partners;
It proves the fact that online dating has become one of the most effective ways of meeting new people leading to stable relationships.
