Earth- Gurgaon
At around 8 o?clock on a warm summer evening, me and a couple of my foodie friends entered Earth and to our surprise, found it to be beautifully done up inside. The white, beige and red leather couches with matching cushions, the dim lighting, the perfect decibel of music and the little bar in one corner gave the place a lovely appearance.
We began by ordering a few drinks to kill the heat. Their ?Pina Colada (Rs. 275) is a must have. It has the perfect proportions of coconut milk, pineapple juice and vanilla ice cream, and tingles on your taste buds! The Mojito with Basil and Apple can be given a miss as it has a little too much of White Rum (for my liking at least), considering the size of the glass itself is not too big. ?As we enjoyed our drinks, they served us assorted breads with delicious olive dressing. And hungry souls that we were, the tray was empty in no time!
In the meantime we were also handed the food menu. The names being Italian, were a little difficult, but the description of each of the items underneath made things easier. We started our ?get rid of the hunger? campaign by ordering a couple of starters. The Non Veg Platti Di Antipasti (Rs. 499) is a must try, although for the helping on the tray, the price is slightly on the higher side. But when it comes to good food, and all the food lovers would agree with me, prices don?t really matter so much. The other starter was the Bruschetta Con Funghi e Mozzarella (Rs. 333) which consists of roasted bread topped with a lot of cheese, vegetables, olive oil, salt and pepper
Once we were done with the starters, it was time for the main course. They have four sections for that, viz. Salads, First Main Course, Second Main Course and Pizzas. ?All the items that form these four sections would leave your mouth watering. The more health conscious of the three of us ordered for herself a Caesar?s Salad(Rs. 444), and the rest of us ordered a Pollo Ripieno (Rs. 666), Lasagne (Rs. 444) and a Pepperoni pizza (Rs. 555). The pepperoni pizza (Rs . 555) is a must have for all thin-crust lovers, and for the others as well who savour eating any kind of pizzas. Another must have dish is the Pollo Ripieno which was consists of Grilled Chicken Breasts served with pasta and vegetables. The healthier section of you who also enjoy good food must not, and I say must not miss the Caesar?s Salad. It has an amazing quantity of minced chicken and by the time we finished it, we were already carving for more.
At last we were done with the main course and it was time for the desserts. We ordered chef?s special for the day, the Choco Fondue (Rs. 555).The melting chocolate inside a Choco Muffin served with Vanilla Ice Cream was indeed extraordinary and nothing like I have ever had before. The Choco Lasagne and the Tiramisu cake are also too good to be missed.
Once we were done with all the food and the table was cleared, we had a little conversation with the manager of the place, and we were told about this live grill that they keep on Friday?s and Saturday?s outside the restaurant, where ?they have fish, chicken, veg platter, etc. which you can grill as per you liking and enjoy it thoroughly. Sounds interesting, doesn?t it
Earth is definitely a good find. I would love to dine at Earth again and I?m definitely ordering my favourite on the menu ? Pollo Ripieno. After a long day of shopping, you deserve to unwind with good food and pleasing ambience, don?t you??So dig in and savour the flavours and textures that are bound to make you come back. And remember ? be hungry before you step in.
