Bowling Tournament Helps Adelphi Breast Cancer Program | NZ News Today

Breast cancer is no laughing matter but Tammy Marshall, whose aunt is fighting breast cancer, has a sense of humor, thus she called her recent event ?Bowling for Breasts,? raising $7575 for the Adelphi NY Statewide Breast Cancer Hotline Support Program.

Marshall is the executive director of Maple Pointe Assisted Living in Rockville Centre. The fundraiser involved a dozen care-oriented businesses, which each paid $500 to participate in the tournament, held at RVC Lanes.

Says Marshall, ?We are always trying to add a little fun to our cause, so the ?Bowling for Breasts? came naturally to us. This disease is near and dear to me as my aunt was diagnosed at 46 and is still going through the process.?

In accepting the donation, Hillary Rutter, the director of the Adelphi Breast Cancer Program, said, ?It is through the support of people like Tammy and her staff at Maple Pointe, that we are able to continue our work of helping New Yorkers who have breast cancer.?

Maple Pointe is an Assisted Living Company in Rockville Centre offering a multitude of personal services for seniors. Their goal is to provide residents with a place to live as independently as possible.

The Adelphi NY Statewide Breast Cancer Hotline Support Program, established in 1980, provides information, support and hope to breast cancer patients and their families and friends.
